1. Check if they’re even running. Yes, as wild as this sounds, even if you hit “Publish” that doesn’t mean they’re active.

2. Check the frequency. If the frequency is too high then people are seeing it too often and are bored by it. You need to refresh the creative.

3. Increase the budget. Maybe you’re being outbid by other brands in your space and sometimes $5/day is t going to cut it.

4. Run a test. See what your target is responding to the most and run with that.

I’m OWNING Google Ads 💪

It’s taken a lot of relearning and research but we’ve come a long way getting my clients’ Google Ads in a stronger place.

I realized a lot of the ads were missing elements, the keywords needed auditing and the targeting could be better.

I was in Dublin visiting my sister and meeting with a client where we talked about a lot of exciting opportunities to grow their business.

When I got home my body was so out of whack. So I’ve done a total reset by prioritizing exercise before I do any work for the day and also eating high protein, high fiber meals.

Then to finish off the week, I reconnected with a lead from earlier this summer and sent over a contract yesterday.

you dread creating Meta ads because it feels like you need to make so many different versions to fit all of the various placements that they offer.

So you avoid doing them at all costs and forfeit any of the traction you might gain from them to build your small business.

But I’ve been doing this long enough now that there are really only two sizes that you need to get the type of results that will help you with conversions, awareness, engagement, etc.

You’ll use this for reels and Facebook stories and lots of other places where video content is most prevalent.

This size is mostly used in Facebook and Messenger placements. There is one placement that *has* to be an image in this size.

than feeling like you’re doing everything you can possibly think of, but you’re not getting the conversions you desperately need?

You may think the only way to get more sales for your small business is to run ads. I have a few different ideas for marketing yourself without having to spend the money on ads just yet.

1. Volunteer in your community: when you meet new people it opens a natural door to tell someone about yourself and your business. They may even pass it along to their friends.

✨I just got a new client lead from something I’m volunteering for!

2. Ask the friend who knows everyone to connect you with their network: it can’t ever hurt to meet with a friend of a friend for coffee to see how they could help you with your business. Maybe they can collaborate with you or introduce you to someone else they know.

✨I had a coffee date through a mutual friend that opened up a whole new industry of connections.

3. Do your research: chances are there is a piece of the puzzle you’re missing in your DIY marketing. Whether it’s not hitting your target’s true pain points or your keywords being off, take a step back or take a free course to learn something new.

✨I took a Google Ads beginner’s course and realized my clients existing ad campaigns were missing a bunch of elements!

You’re working from home and no more Zoom meetings with cameras on so you do your thing and get comfy. Maybe you have your red light mask on or no bra.

Does anxiety render you unable to choose what to do next in your never-ending lists of tasks? That’s called choice paralysis. I get it pretty often when work and life pile up (like today) #smallbusinesslife

To calm myself back down I do these three things:

1. Make a cup of coffee
2. Get in bed
3. Read a book

I have to completely stop my momentum of anxiety spiral in order come back to the present. You don’t have to do what I do, but think of a three-step routine you can implement when the world gets too crazy.

TRUTH TIME!

When you have friends in your same industry, you want to see how your work measures up to theirs. Sometimes it can push you to do better and sometimes it can make you feel like a piece of 💩.

Social media can play tricks on our self-worth. I have to remind myself that there will always be someone doing things differently and better than me. It only matter if I am proud of my OWN work.

Work-life balance is a MYTH…here’s why:

I’ve never been busier - hanging out with friends, booked and busy with client work, joining a commission in my community, signing up for a marathon - and more fulfilled.

That’s one of the beauties and blessings of running your own business. I’m never not grateful to have a more flexible schedule than most.
